The Joy Is In the Wait

Hey all! Welcome back... today is not just meant to be a style post, its a positivity post. I like to give a little message of joy in all my posts, but this is one of the most important lessons that I never noticed until recently.

This weekend is one special weekend. Today, on Good Friday, as it is a very solemn day, I wanted to do a reflection post. This is mainly inspired by John Ortberg's "Saturday" sermon which I watched yesterday.
Applying the truth of faith to your life can sometimes be confusing. Things in the Bible seem very  difficult to comprehend, and so listening to someone apply the Gospel to life in this way was very extraordinary and helpful.

Many of us know about Good Friday and Easter, but few people think about the Saturday in between. Now, if you don't have time to listen to the whole thing, I wanted to leave you with a very powerful message I was able to receive from it. - There is so much importance to the waiting period.

Most days in our life are part of the waiting period. We ask God something and then we wait until the day our prayers are answered. Very few times do I feel like God answers them immediately or solves my problems as soon as they arise. However, how we act while we are waiting for our answer or waiting for some resolve makes all of the difference.

I have been waiting for answers in so many aspect of my life, but how I choose to act in that time is very defining. Are you hopeful or are you angry? Are you steadfast or do you quit? Are you frustrated or are you learning? Wearing a smile in the darkest times is faith. A heart of hope does not sulk in sadness, it finds comfort in knowing that the answer will come.

If God gave us everything as soon as we asked for it, why would we need faith? The dignity of our faith is found in the waiting room of life. If we can believe before we see, hear, or experience the grace of God, that is what real faith in the Lord is, and we are truly prepared for his coming.

If you are interested in the sermon, you can find it here. Have a great weekend with your friends and family. Take the time to truly recognize that the resurrection is coming and there is so much dignity in the waiting period. Recognize the joy in the wait as we have faith in God's promise!
