Hi loves, missed you! Welcome back! I hope you're well. We are talking all-things jumpsuit today!
To start out, I want to preface by saying that there is a jumpsuit for any season, so I am going to give some styling tips that will apply to many jumpsuits and not just this one.
However, I want to start by referring to this specific jumpsuit, it is currently on sale at Urban Outfitters, so if you're interested in it, check out the link under the picture below.

One of my favorite things about buying a jumpsuit is it is the entire outfit in one. Many people love wearing them because they don't have to think of much else. Jumpsuits styles can be extremely flattering and you don't have to worry about accidentally exposing anything like you would wearing a dress. However, they give you sophisticated look without having to do too much.
Today I wanted to talk about what style jumpsuit will suit your body type, how to accessorize your jumpsuit, and where I like to shop for mine.
Finding a Jumpsuit the Suits Your Body
Now this is not to say these are the only body shapes, but I think these are a broad baseline for what might suit you!
Hourglass: If you have an hourglass figure, find something that comes in at your waist. You want the jumpsuit to show off the smallest part of your body and highlight that beautiful hourglass shape. You can also go for something that is fitted throughout the entire bodice and straght down the leg.
Rectangle: If you have a straighter body or a more athletic build, opt for something that creates a waist or more definition in your shape. This is probably the most versatile shape to style. Look for something with a belted waist or a flared leg.
Apple: The key with an Apple body shape to to balance out your features in order to make the most flattering look. Look for something with a plunging neck line to elongate your body. Avoid something with a high neckline, and try to style with heels or platforms to create an illusion of longer legs or look.
How to Accessorize Your Jumpsuit
Jewelry: I am going to keep it simple, if you’re wearing a patterned jumpsuit, wear simple, elegant jewelry. If you’re wearing something simple or monochromatic, opt for something more interesting. Here I am wearing tortoise hoops which add a little detail without drawing away from the main statement, the jumpsuit.
Shoes: This depends on what look you’re going for. If you’re going out at night or going to a wedding, of course wear you’re heels. Otherwise, if you’re wearing your jumpsuit for casual wear, try out something fun. You can always wear some casual booties or your favorite flats, but one of my favorite things to do is park your jumpsuit with sneakers. Platform sneakers are a great way to bring something different to your outfit.
Bags: I think a simple cross body or a clutch is the best way to go. With one pattern or color being your entire outfit when you wear a jumpsuit, it’s important to not make the outfit look too heavy. A large tote could potential make the look look unbalanced.
Where to Find the Perfect Jumpsuit
BCBG: If you're looking for something sophisticated and formal, check out BCBG. The nice thing about purchasing a BCBG jumpsuit (particularly in black) is you can wear it again and again. You could wear it to work with a blazer or to a wedding with strappy pumps.
Urban Outfitters: I find Urban Outfitters does a great job with the fit of their jumpsuits. I sometimes struggle with finding jumpsuits and rompers that are long enough in my torso area and UO tends to get that length just right.
Lulus: Lulu’s is really great for wear-to-work attire. I think their professional clothing is great and very versatile. If you’re looking for a staple jumpsuit at a great price, check out Lulus.
Nordstrom Rack: I have been really impressed lately with Nordstrom Rack’s selection. If you have the time to search for exactly what you’re looking for, you might just find a great deal on the perfect piece.
