Summer is filled with many things to do, and this summer I have been trying to make sure I get to spend lots of time with my amazing mum. One of our favorite things to do is to get up early on a Saturday morning and head to the farmers market. We always leave with great fresh produce and some sort of treat from a food truck.
On this specific visit, I decided to indulge in some of summer's most wonderful gifts; sunflowers and corn. If you know me at all you'll know that flowers and sweet corn are two of my favorite things. Luckily, God blessed my home state with a whole lot of both (especially in the summer). To me, flowers are a source of happiness, life, and pure beauty, so when I see beautiful blooms they're hard to pass up. Sunflowers have an obvious way of brighting a room, not just because of their yellow color, but because of their size too and these did exactly that.
My top is from Madewell (surprise). It has a ruffle detail in the front, and is stitched with red and while thread to create a great pinkish summer hue.
Now let's talk loafers. I absolutely adore the idea of loafers. They're practical yet stylish, comfortable yet classy, and the perfect addition to almost any outfit. These medium-brown loafers are actually extremely affordable. They can be found for under $30 at Old Navy. I bought a pair while I was at school in Bloomington and wore them everyday, so I decided to purchase a second pair for the day these guys see their last. I love these loafers so much that I didn't want to ever be without a pair. For their price point, they are an absolute must-have.
Finally, on to the accessories. My earrings are from J. Crew and are amazing. I have worn these earrings for all sorts of occasions, from a date party to the farmers market, and they've never failed to draw a complement. Additionally, I finished the look with my gold monogram necklace and my Fossil watch.
**For the Indy readers, if you're looking for a good farmers market to visit, I tend to alternate between going to The Market at Hague and Broad Ripple Farmers Market.
