My favorite thing about working in August is that the first fall roll-out comes along. Fall is my absolute favorite season (it's mainly because of the clothes). The outfit I'm sharing with you today is a great transitional outfit from summer to fall and it can all be found in one place (shocker).
When I shop, I'm always out to get the biggest bang for my buck. However, to some people that means getting great deals price-wise but, to me, sometimes the bang comes in the versatility and quality of the product that I'm buying. I rather spend more money on quality products that will last and not go out of style than buy a bunch of cheap items just because they have good price point.
As each person has their own way of shopping, I wanted to let you in on some of my favorite August buys before I head back to school.
I want to start with the most important, denim (of course). If you know me, you know I wear jeans 90% of the time. These jeans are my absolute go-to pair. They are a 10" rise, so they come fairly high and create a great shape. They are in Hayes wash which is a dark wash which I think is the most versatile way to go when investing in denim. At school, I can wear them to class with a nice blouse and booties or just a t-shirt and vans and they always work. As you can see in the last photo on the post, I have my name embroidered on them (because I'm extra and it's awesome).
On to the detail items of this outfit, the courier shirt I am wearing is from Madewell's August collection. The shoulder embroidery on this shirt has produced many complements when I've worn it, and the traditional Madewell courier shape means it will be wearable for seasons to come. With the courier shirt I would advise to size down one size and play around with a side tuck, half tuck, front tie, and make it your own.
The shoes are a bright red with a perfect block heel which makes them easy to wear all day long. Finally, my jewelry is also Madewell with a couple of rings and a necklace to finish off the look. Links to all of the items will be at the bottom of the page. Happy August shopping!
